About Bovatee: Finding Our Anchor in a Fast World
The Starting Point: A Need for Visual Depth
Bovatee founder, Aniya Lasha Harrison, started the brand not from a grand business plan, but from a simple necessity: the need for texture and depth in living spaces. She realized that walls often felt empty, failing to reflect the places she had been.
Our core product is Wooden Map Wall Art. These are handcrafted pieces, often layered 3D maps of the World or specific Continents/Countries, created so you can mark and memorialize your travels. Bovatee was established in 2024 on the belief that memories need a solid, timeless anchor, not just easily forgotten digital data.

Product Focus and Sales Channel
We chose the combination of Wood and Maps because wood offers natural warmth and permanence, being a genuine material that can last generations, while the map serves as a visual tool to activate imagination and record personal history. Our goal is to create a product that makes you want to stop, touch, and remember.
We choose to sell exclusively through bovatee.com to maintain integrity and quality control. Our maps are often large and require customization. Selling direct allows us to ensure precise Custom Quality for every size and directly supervise the complex packaging and shipping process required to protect 3D products during transit.
The Journey and Technical Challenges
The first year of founding Bovatee was a continuous struggle with technical details.
The challenge of Durability and Depth was the biggest hurdle. Creating the 3D effect with multiple layers of wood is difficult because natural wood expands and contracts with humidity. We had to rigorously test every batch of materials and redesign our lamination process many times to ensure that different layers of Maple and Oak fit perfectly without warping or creating unsightly gaps over time.
Shipping was also a major challenge, as 3D maps are fragile. We had to invest in designing special internal protective frames for the shipping boxes, an added cost necessary to safeguard the artwork. Our focus on moisture control procedures and the precision of our laser cutters was the key to achieving the quality we have today.
Production Process and U.S. Material Sourcing
At Bovatee, we pride ourselves on a manufacturing process that combines industrial precision with handcrafted finishing.
Our Production Process involves using accurate geographical data, advanced laser cutters to slice the wood layers, followed by manual sanding and staining to achieve clear color contrast between the layers. Finally, the pieces are carefully assembled to create the signature 3D relief effect.
We are committed to using high-quality, sustainably harvested hardwoods and work with trusted U.S. lumber suppliers who provide premium materials for the high-end furniture industry: Boulter Plywood Corp. (a well-known supplier of plywood and hardwood for precise crafting projects) and Frank Miller Lumber (supplier of high-grade hardwoods like White Oak and Maple).
Sourcing quality wood from these partners ensures that your map is a sustainable and luxurious investment.
